Local travel tips for Flanders, in plain English

Wander Flanders is a small, personal travel guide for visitors from the United States and Canada. We share honest recommendations, our own photos and practical tips for Bruges, Ghent, Antwerp, Brussels and Ypres: what you should really see, where to eat and drink, and where to stay, so you can plan a trip that feels like yours.

Please note: we do not organise or sell tours. Everything on this website is free advice and recommendations.

The story

Hi, I’m Thomas

Wander Flanders started with a simple idea: to share the Flanders I know with travellers from North America, in plain English and without the noise. I grew up in a small village between Ghent and Bruges, and my family has lived in the region for generations.

Most websites about Belgium try to tell you everything at once. I wanted the opposite: a small, honest guide with real stories, so you can see what Bruges, Ghent, Antwerp, Brussels and Ypres actually feel like, and choose what suits you.

Most photos on this site are my own, taken with a smartphone during walks through the cities. No glossy brochure, just Flanders as you will see it.
